The Killigrew Monument is a memorial in the port town of Falmouth , on the south coast of Cornwall in England . The pyramid-shaped monument was constructed from granite stones in 1738 and is 44  feet high. The base has an edge length of 14 feet. Martin Lister Killigrew (1666–1743) left the instructions for its construction and did not want an inscription. The cost was 466  £ , 15  s and 6  d . In 1836 and again in 1871 the monument was relocated.
