Kim Swift

Kim Swift (* 1983 ) is an American computer game developer . Her best-known work includes her involvement in the titles Portal and Left 4 Dead for the US development studio Valve .
Career
Kim Swift studied at the DigiPen Institute of Technology in Redmond, Washington . Together with fellow students, she designed the title Narbacular Drop , which anticipated the gameplay of Portal . The game was presented to development studio Valve and resulted in company director Gabe Newell offering the team a job. The team finally expanded the concept for Valve and created the critically acclaimed portal from it . Kim Swift acted as team leader and level designer. In addition to Portal , Swift was also involved in other Valve projects, including Left 4 Dead and its successor Left 4 Dead 2 , where she also took on a leading role in development.
In December 2009, Swift left Valve to join the independent development studio Airtight Games . In cooperation with Square Enix , she acted as the lead developer of the title Quantum Conundrum .
