Kimber Genetics Award

The Kimber Genetics Award was awarded by the National Academy of Sciences for excellence in the field of genetics . John E. Kimber, a poultry farmer from Niles , California , (now incorporated in Fremont ), founded the award in 1955. The last award was in 1967; In 1970 the price was discontinued.

Three of the 15 award winners later received a Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine ; Hermann Joseph Muller had already received it in 1946, George W. Beadle in 1958.
