Angelika Sheridan (* 1965 as Angelika Flacke ) is a German improvisation musician ( flute , bass flute) and music teacher.

Live and act

Sheridan completed a classical flute course at the Folkwang Hochschule Essen ; as a graduate she received the Folkwang Prize in 1990 . Initially active as a concert flutist, since 1990 she has increasingly worked in the field of free improvisation and in interdisciplinary projects with visual arts and dance, etc. a. with Peter Kowald , Michel Doneda , Carl Ludwig Hübsch , Hans Schneider , Gunda Gottschalk , Sebastian Gramss , Matthias Schubert , Dirk Marwedel , Wolfgang Schliemann , Alexander Frangenheim , Thomas Lehn , Lê Quan Ninh , Géraldine Keller , John Butcher and Paul Lytton . With Peter Kowald and Eckard Koltermann she wrote the film music for Mein Herz - Nobody! by Helma Sanders-Brahms . She was also involved in Butch Morris ' 1995 performance of Wuppertal Testament . She currently plays in a duo with Frank Niehusmann (Strom), since 2004 in a duo with Ute Völker , since 2006 in Ensemble Hiatus, also with Ensemble X, Blind Date Quartet (with Ulrike Stortz, Scott Roller and John Hollenbeck ) and Multiple Joyce Orchestra and the Insub Meta Orchestra.

Sheridan teaches flute, improvisation and didactics at the Cologne University of Music and Dance ; she also teaches at the music school in Monheim am Rhein .
