The Association Internationale du Théâtre de l'Enfance et la Jeunesse (ASSITEJ) ( French ) is the "International Association of Theater for Children and Young People".

The association consists of 85 national centers on all continents.

ASSITEJ Germany

In 1989, on the initiative of the German ASSITEJ, the Federal Youth Ministry founded the children's and youth theater center in the Federal Republic of Germany with its headquarters in Frankfurt / Main.

Children's and youth theater center

The children's and youth theater center organizes a wide-ranging program every year, which also includes dance and music theater. Theater festivals such as the German Children's and Youth Theater Meetings , symposia, working conferences and workshop events are offered at various locations throughout Germany.

The center cooperates with the Goethe Institute .

German Children's Theater Prize / German Youth Theater Prize

Since the Children's and Youth Theater Center was founded in 1989, the "German Children's Theater Prize" and the "German Youth Theater Prize" sponsored by the Federal Ministry for Family, Seniors, Women and Youth have been awarded.

The nominations are announced each summer. The award ceremony takes place at a festive event at the Frankfurt Authoring Center .

ASSITEJ Austria

The association ASSITEJ Austria - Young Theater Austria, founded in 1989 and based in Vienna, is the umbrella organization of the Austrian theater and dance scene for young audiences. This section of ASSITEJ has almost 100 members, including theater institutions, independent houses, groups, associations, organizers and individuals.

Projects

STELLA Prize

Under the name "STELLA-Darstellender.Kunst.Preis für Junges Audiences", prizes have been awarded annually in Austria since 2007 for "outstanding performances in theater for young audiences". ASSITEJ awards pieces through its own research, but also through self-submissions.

ASSITEJ Switzerland

The management of ASSITEJ Switzerland is based in Zurich.
