Kindergarten Museum (Bruchsal)

The kindergarten museum is a museum in the field of social education in Bruchsal in northern Baden-Württemberg .

It shows exhibits on the history of kindergarten and pre-school education , including toys, children's and song books, Bibles, play and work materials, and furnishings. In particular, it deals with the kindergarten teachers Friedrich Fröbel and Maria Montessori . In 1840 Fröbel coined the name “Kindergarten”.

The museum was founded in 1988 by the Freiburg Diocesan Caritas Association and housed in the attic of the Bruchsal Caritas Association. Since 2003 it has been privately owned by the Sancta Maria School for Social Pedagogy .
