The Kindergarten Museum in North Rhine-Westphalia is the first and so far only museum of its kind in North Rhine-Westphalia. It is located on the Quirlsberg in the center of Bergisch Gladbach .

history

In 1994 the non-profit association “KindergartenMuseum eV” was founded. It is the sponsor of the North Rhine-Westphalia Kindergarten Museum , which has been in existence since 2004 and is also known as the Kindergarten Museum NRW . The museum finances its operations mainly through donations, membership fees and voluntary work. The museum is also funded by the Renate Röhrscheidt Foundation, which was established in 2007 under the umbrella of the NRW Foundation. The patron is Angelika Rüttgers.

The museum focuses on the institutional care and support of children in kindergarten and crèche from the beginning until today. There are seven exhibition rooms available in which you can find out more about raising young children. Here you can find kindergarten facilities, old games, children's books, etc. You can find out details about the great teachers in history and the training of teachers over the years. There are changing special exhibitions such as “100 years of Montessori education ”, “Cribs made by and for children”, “Dollhouses and dollhouses”, etc. Finally, various public activities such as fairy tale hours and individual handicraft programs make the museum an experience. There are individual and group tours.
