The King Abdullah II Air Base is a military airbase of the Royal Jordanian Air Force (RJAF) and is located about 25 kilometers east of Amman in the northwest of Jordan in the desert. The air base was opened on November 26, 1999 by King Abdullah II and is home to two squadrons of light attack helicopters of the type AH-1 Cobra .
