Kingspan is a listed Irish manufacturer of building materials . Kingspan manufactures a wide variety of structural elements , but specializes in the manufacture of thermal insulating cladding for buildings. Besides facade cladding and roof elements are also skylights , vents, prefabricated rainwater cisterns , fuel tanks, as well as ceiling and floor panels sold for interior design.
The company was founded in 1965 by Eugene Murtagh, who started out making agricultural trailers. He later focused on the manufacture of various construction elements and thus founded the Kingscourt Construction Group . Industrial silos and tanks in particular were part of the product portfolio at the beginning. The insulation business was built up from 1980. In 1989 the Kingscourt Construction Group renamed the Kingspan Group.
