The Kininvie Distillery is a distillery in Dufftown , Moray that produces single malt whiskey . The distillery is owned by William Grant & Sons, the distillates are used in their own blended whiskeys .

history

Kininvie distillery, one of Scotland's younger distilleries, began production on July 4th, 1990. The distillery was built on the grounds of the Balvenie distillery and consists of only one distillery . Upstream and downstream production steps are taken over by Balvenie. It is produced 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Almost the entire output is used in the Group's own blends, best known for the “Monkey Shoulder” blended malt Scotch whiskey . Kininvie was temporarily closed from 2010 to 2011, but has been producing again since 2012.
