St. Michael the Archangel Church (Bukonys)
The Church of St. Archangel Michael ( lit.Bukonių Šv. Arkangelo Mykolo bažnyčia ) is a Catholic neoclassical church with a tower in the village of Bukonys , Jonava Rajonggemeinde ( Kaunas district ), on the Ukmergė - Šėta highway in Lithuania . The wooden church was built in 1787 by Juozapas Hoppenas, owner of the Bukonys Manor . In 1832 the parish owned about 15 acres of land. In 1829 a new walled church was built. The Michaelis church was renovated from 1916 to 1917. Now it belongs to the Dean of Jonava , Archdiocese of Kaunas .
