The Church of the Sacred Heart of Jesus ( Maltese Knisja Parrokjali tal-Qalb ta 'Ġesu ) is the Catholic parish church of Fontana on the Maltese island of Gozo .

history

The foundation stone for the church was laid on January 29, 1893. On January 29, 1905, it was consecrated to the Sacred Heart of Jesus by Bishop Giovanni Maria Camilleri . On March 27, 1911 Camilleri raised Fontana to its own parish.

The altar shows the Sacred Heart of Jesus in a work by Giuseppe Calì . On June 18, 1993, a golden crown was placed on the altar in the presence of Bishop Nicholas J. Cauchi .
