The Church of Bud (Norwegian Bud kirke ) is a church of the Evangelical Lutheran Norwegian Church in the village of Bud in Hustadvika commune .

It is located in the northern part of the village at the address Kirkevegen 3 . Northwest is the former now a museum used -coastal battery army 17./976 Bud , west of Stone Park .

Architecture and history

The earliest direct documentary mention of a church in Bud is from 1589. It was probably a stave church . However, the building was partially demolished in 1648 and expanded to the north and south. However , in 1709 the church burned down due to a lightning strike . In 1717, today's wooden church was rebuilt on a cross-shaped floor plan with 250 seats today. In 1755 Bud's church became the main church of its own parish. In 1832 it burned in the church tower, the newly built church tower was then built as a small onion dome , according to the taste of the time . During World War IIthe Tum was in the line of fire of the neighboring German coastal battery. The tower was therefore dismantled and then put back on again in 1947.
