Skepperstad Church

The Church of Skepperstad is a church in the Swedish municipality of Sävsjö belonging village Skepperstad .

The church was built at the end of the 12th century in the Romanesque style . The church tower was built in the 13th century. The upper parts of the tower were later demolished. In 1809 the upper parts of the church tower were rebuilt. In 1833 the church was expanded to the east.

There are several medieval sculptures in the church . The triumphal crucifix is ​​remarkable. The baptismal font has a foot from the 12th century, while the basin itself was only added in 1952. A little to the east of the church on the cemetery wall is the Terlestenen rune stone .
