Kirchliche Zeitgeschichte is an academic journal for theology and history . It has been published twice a year since 1988 and comprises around 260 pages.

The publication concentrates primarily on research into questions of church history in the 20th and 21st centuries. For editorial board include church historian . In the self-understanding of the authorship, the task of contemporary church history is to “present the recent past from multiple perspectives in order to advance to justified judgments”.

Managing editor of the magazine is Gerhard Besier . For the editorial board is Andrea Strübind responsible.

In addition to the publication of special issues, monographs are also published and symposia are held regularly .
