The Church Service in Police and Customs is an institution of the Confederation of Evangelical Churches in Lower Saxony, assigned to the House of Church Services (HkD) of the Evangelical Lutheran Church of Hanover , and is supported by the five member churches . The office is located in the Hanns-Lilje-Haus in the old town of Hanover .

From 1966, the Office for Community Service (today the House of Church Services) established Church work in the police and customs border service . On May 6, 1986, the Church Service in Police and Customs was founded in Lower Saxony . Up to and including 1990, the service was carried out by the Evangelical Lutheran Church of Hanover for Lower Saxony. Since January 1991, the Church Service in Police and Customs has been an institution of the Confederation of Evangelical Churches in Lower Saxony and was treated equally with the areas of activity in the Office for Community Service / House of Church Services. Today it is an institution assigned to the House of Church Services.
