Telgte parish

Telgte parish was a parish in the then Münster district in North Rhine-Westphalia until 1968 . The community was one of the "parish communities" occurring several times in the Münsterland , which comprised the rural area around an urban church. Today your area belongs to the town of Telgte in the Warendorf district .

The parish of Telgte parish surrounded the city of Telgte in a ring shape and last had an area of ​​63.88 km². It consisted of the farmers Berdel, Raestrup, Schwienhorst, Vechtrup and Verth . In the 20th century, the development of the city of Telgte also expanded into the municipality.

After the Napoleonic era , the area of ​​the parish Telgte belonged to the Telgte mayor in the Münster district founded in 1816. With the introduction of the Westphalian rural community order in 1843, the Telgte mayor's office became the Telgte office . The parish of Telgte parish was sometimes referred to as the Telgte rural community .

By the law on the amalgamation of the city of Telgte and the municipality of Kirchspiel Telgte , the municipality of Kirchspiel Telgte was incorporated into the city of Telgte on July 1, 1968. The city of Telgte became part of the new Warendorf district in 1975.
