Kirjais ( Finnish: Kirjainen ) is a 10 km² island in the archipelago off the southwest coast of Finland . It is about 40 km as the crow flies southwest of Turku and administratively belongs to the city of Pargas (Parainen). Until 2008, Kiriais was part of the former Nagu (Nauvo) community. On the island is the village of the same name, Kirjais. The most important neighboring island is Lillandet in the north. Two bridges connect Kirjais to Lillandet across the smaller island of Sommarö . There is a ferry port in the east of the island. There is also a large central bus station.
