Kirsch (bicycle manufacturer)

The Erich Kirsch GmbH & Co. KG was a wholesale house for vehicle requirements from Müllheim , Breisgau-Hochschwarzwald . The company provided u. a. Racing bikes and sold them.

The name "Kirsch" was registered in the trademark register from 1954 to 2003. However, Erich Kirsch GmbH & Co. KG already existed in 1933 in Müllheim, south of Freiburg im Breisgau . Kirsch was a wholesaler of self-assembled bicycles, bicycle parts and accessories, as well as automotive parts. Cherry wheels were popular in southwest Germany because of their good quality standards. The company owners, the "Kirsch brothers" were enthusiastic cyclists themselves. That is why there was also a separate line of racing bikes under the name "CERASSO". The Kirsch company filed for bankruptcy towards the end of 1998.

In 1963, Fritz Sütterlin achieved the long-distance world record on a Kirsch racing bike. The bike was exhibited in the Müllheim city museum.
