Kittern Hill

The Entrance Grave ( German  entrance grave ) of Kittern Hill is located on the highest hill at 34 m on the Isle of Scilly Gugh in Cornwall in England .

There are three entrance tombs on this hill. Kittern Hill on the northwest tip of the island is the best preserved. It has the usual rectangular chamber and has five cap stones (one is overturned).

Over 80 on the Isles of Scilly mostly only differ in their state of preservation. Most date from the late Neolithic (around 2500 BC) but their construction and use continued until around 700 BC. Continued. They are made of stone and lie in stone-enclosed round hills. The entrances are in different directions, but the majority face east towards the rising sun.
