Kjersti Skavhaug

Kjersti Skavhaug is a Norwegian ethnologist .

Life

Skavhaug wrote her master's thesis at the University of Oslo . From 1982 she worked as a conservator and director of the North Cape Museum, which opened that year in Honningsvåg , Norway . She played a key role in the creation of the historic grottoes in the North Cape Hall , which she initiated .

As an editor she worked on the yearbooks of the Nordland Fylkesmuseum and the municipality of Nordkapp . She has also written books and articles on ethnological issues and local historical topics in the region around the North Cape .
