The Klafferquelle (often also Klaffer ) is a spring in Weikertschlag an der Thaya , Lower Austria .

The spring was first mentioned in a document in 1178 as a gape potion . It is located at the southern end of the village near the Thaya . The spring water is tasty, very pure and was previously considered a healing spring for eye diseases, which is why the spring has become a destination for pilgrimages . Recently, however, spring water has been found to have high levels of nitrate. The Klafferkapelle over the Bründl was built in 1835 at the suggestion of Bishop Jakob Frint . The chapel, which is divided into bottles, has a curved gable on the front and a square vault on the inside . It is equipped with a wrought iron cross and numerous folkloric devotional objects .
