Klütjenfelde

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Klütjenfelde was a place on the Elbe island Wilhelmsburg on the south side of the Norderelbe, east of Reiherstieg .

history

The name is a term coined by Mennonites . It should describe the cohesion of this community and the appearance of its members (like a Klüten ). Around 1700 the island was bought by Hamburg . The previous owner was Georg Wilhelm (Braunschweig-Lüneburg) . In 1813 Napoleon ordered the construction of a ski jump in Klütjenfeld. Around 1890, the Klütjenfelder Hafen was built as a river port on the Kleiner Grasbrook (Reiherstieg). In 2010 the streets Klütjenfelder Hauptdeich and Klütjenfelder Straße still remind of the former place.
