The kladde | buchverlag is the first German crowd publishing company.

Founded in 2013 in Freiburg im Breisgau , the publisher finances its publications through campaigns on the largest German crowdfunding platforms. In this way, the publisher was able to publish well-known authors, including the publicist Ulrich Pätzold . The Facebook novel Zwirbler is also one of the publications.

The publisher was awarded the Young Excellence Award - Big Ideas Panel for the best idea in the German book trade at the 2014 Frankfurt Book Fair .
