Ulrich Pätzold

Ulrich Pätzold (born August 20, 1943 in Bielefeld ) is a retired German journalism professor.

Life

Pätzold spent 30 years at TU Dortmund University and was instrumental in setting up the model course in journalism in the early 1980s. His focus in teaching and research was journalistic communication. In 1984 he founded the Dortmund media research institute FORMATT with his former student Horst Röper . Pätzold now lives in Berlin and participates in the New German Media Makers initiative . He is the brother-in-law of the scientist and artist Hubert Gottschling .
