In June 2020, the conservative columnist Jan Fleischhauer criticized the association in his Focus column as part of an “anti-hate speech industry”. Previously, a satirical column by Hengameh Yaghoobifarah (All cops are disabled) in connection with the Black Lives Matter movement had imagined that police officers were only in the dump among their own kind (compare “ All cops are bastards ”). Interior Minister Horst Seehofer , whose authority supports the association had filed a lawsuit against the column post because of sedition considered, followed by numerous members of the association expressed solidarity with Yaghoobifarah. Fleischhauer pointed out that the credibility of anti-hate speech media initiatives would be in doubt if they were used to combat racist hate speech but defend an insult to the police.
