The Klaus-Mann-Platz in Frankfurt am Main is named after the writer Klaus Mann (1906–1949).

Originally, the square was an urban expansion of the intersection of Schäfergasse and Alte Gasse . It was only through the design with the Frankfurter Engel , the first fully plastic memorial to commemorate the persecution of homosexuals , that the parking lot became a square. The sculpture of the angel forms the center of the square, surrounded by a cross-circle shape made up of four benches that form an inner circle and box hedges that form an outer circle. After the memorial was opened to the public at the end of 1994, the area was named after the homosexual writer Klaus Mann on September 12, 1995 at the initiative of the City of Frankfurt's Local Advisory Board 1. This subsequent naming means that none of the adjacent houses have this postal address.

The square is in the city center and at the same time in the center of homosexual culture and subculture . To the west it is limited by the sports hall of the Liebfrauenschule Frankfurt . Its facade with windows that are walled up by glass blocks represents a considerable design deficiency of the square. The northern development of the square is an architecturally heterogeneous row of buildings. a. Until 2013 it was a café of the gay scene, and today there is still a cinema, hotel and shops. Schäfergasse runs on its southern side, to the east it meets Alte Gasse in an acute-angled triangle.

In September 2007, Klaus-Mann-Platz was the only street space in Frankfurt am Main that was named after an outed homosexual.
