Klaus-Peter Vogel

Klaus-Peter Vogel (born July 2, 1931 in Berlin ) is a German palaeontologist and professor at the Goethe University in Frankfurt am Main .

Life

In 1962 he completed his habilitation in Tübingen with a thesis on mussels with lock teeth from the Spanish Cambrian and was in Frankfurt from 1963. From 1965 to 1968 he headed the partnership team between the University of Bonn and the University of Kabul in Kabul . In 1969 he became a professor in Frankfurt.

He deals with paleobiology, paleoecology, microscopic endoliths (paleo- bathymetry , bioerosion) and construction morphology .

In 2013 he became an honorary member of the Paleontological Society , of which he was president from 1980 to 1982.
