Klaus-Rainer Heinrich Wilhelm Rupp (born February 21, 1955 in Neuhaus ) is a German politician ( Die Linke ) and member of the Bremen Parliament .

biography

education and profession

After finishing secondary school, Rupp completed an apprenticeship as a chemical technician . He then attended a vocational school and the technical college, which he finished with a technical diploma. After his military service, he attended the technical college and finished it as a graduate engineer for process engineering . Since 1984 he has been a self-employed engineer for control technology.

politics

Rupp was already a party member of the SPD and the DKP . He has been a member of the PDS (later Die Linke) since 1992. Within his party he was state chairman from 1995 to 1998 and from 2002 to 2005. Afterwards he was state spokesman for the PDS until 2007 and, in terms of local politics, a member of the Eastern Suburbs Advisory Board from 1999 to 2007 . Rupp is a volunteer finance officer at attac.

He has been a member of the Bremen Parliament since the 2007 general election and the re-election in 2011 and 2015. Since the 18th electoral term he has represented his parliamentary group in the committees: Budget and Finance, Auditing, Ports, Environmental Companies and the newly founded parliamentary committee of inquiry 'New Clinic'. He is also a member of the Deputations for: Environment, Building, Transport and Urban Development, and Economy, Labor and Ports.
