Klaus Dieter Güse

Klaus Dieter Güse (born March 14, 1925 in Hanover ; † June 26, 1987 there ) was a German entrepreneur and fencing athlete .

Life

Klaus Dieter Güse was born on March 14, 1925 in Hanover as the son of a confectionery manufacturer. When his father died in 1958, he inherited his company (truffle vegetables), which he expanded further and made it an important company for truffle pralines and other confectionery.

Sports performance and sports official

Güse was involved in fencing from an early age. He was a member of the gymnastics club in Hanover, fencing department. With this club, which was eleven times German fencing team champion, he himself became five times German champion. For this he received the silver laurel leaf on December 7, 1956 together with the fencing team of the Hanover gymnastics club .

After completing his active sports career, he took on honorary tasks in the German Fencing Federation and was its president from 1978 to 1986. After leaving this post in 1986 for health reasons, he was appointed honorary president of the German Fencing Association. He also held honorary posts internationally and was, among other things, Vice President of the International Fencing Association.

Güse was also active in sports literature: together with Andreas Schirmer he wrote the book Fascination Fechten . He was also inducted into the Lower Saxony Hall of Fame.

Klaus Dieter Güse died on June 26, 1987 in Hanover.
