Klaus Elgeti

Klaus Elgeti (born July 11, 1934 in Stralsund ) is a German process engineer and was an adjunct professor for thermodynamics and process engineering at RWTH Aachen from 1972 to 1994 .

Live and act

Klaus Elgeti studied mechanical engineering at the Technical University of Hanover , where he was active in the Corps Hannovera and reciprocated in 1956. In 1964 he was promoted to Dr.-Ing from the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering there. PhD. Three years later, in 1967, he completed his habilitation there. He switched to Bayer AG in industry and completed his habilitation at RWTH Aachen University . At Bayer, he started out in heat technology, where he was promoted to director of central process technology . On January 31, 1972, he was appointed adjunct professor for thermodynamics and process engineering at RWTH Aachen University. From 1994 until his retirement he held the Bayer Endowed Professorship for Technical Chemistry at the University of Cologne as successor to Marko Zlokarnik .

Elgeti worked in the fields of heat engineering as well as heat and mass transfer. He published numerous articles in scientific journals and contributed to compilations and manuals in his field.
