Klaus Hödl

Klaus Hödl (* 1963 in Radkersburg ) is an Austrian historian. He is a university lecturer in history and a collaborator at the Center for Jewish Studies at the Karl-Franzens University in Graz.

Klaus Hödl studied a. a. History in Graz, received his doctorate in 1991 with the thesis "From the Shtetl to the Lower East Side." Galician Jews in New York and received his habilitation in 2002 with the thesis Healthy Jews, Sick Blacks . The Waldheim affair had turned his interest to Judaism. His study of the Galician Jews in Vienna was commissioned by the Jewish Welcome Service Vienna .

In 2001 he was instrumental in founding the Center for Jewish Studies at the University of Graz.

In 2006/07 he worked in Jerusalem.
