Klaus Hartmann (* 1969 in Eisleben ) is a German painter. He lives in Berlin .

After training as an orthopedic shoemaker in Erfurt , Klaus Hartmann studied from 1991 to 1997 at the Hamburg University of Fine Arts with Werner Büttner . In 1994 he spent one semester at the Academy of Fine Arts Vienna .

Klaus Hartmann's pictures are painterly constructions that arise from concrete observations by the artist. Frequently, scenes are presented with thematic breaks that can be read as views of society. The subjects of his early paintings include a. Allotments, fairs, Ferris wheels and roller coasters, billboards, train tracks, pedestrian bridges, bush formations and Chinese restaurants. Klaus Hartmann has traveled to East Africa several times. Between 2006 and 2015, a group of Tanzania images consisting mainly of landscape images was created.
