Klaus Jungk

Klaus Jungk (born May 1, 1916 in Stettin ; † October 1, 2005 ) was a German composer and musicologist .

Jungk received flute lessons as a schoolboy, passed his Abitur in Stralsund in 1934 and then studied musicology, German and acoustics in Berlin. He also took flute lessons from Hans Frenz , the solo flutist in the Prussian State Orchestra of the Berlin State Opera. After receiving his doctorate (on Mozart's operas), he was in charge of a series of films as a sound engineer at Tobis -Filmkunst. From 1948 to 1981 he was head of the serious music department at Sender Freie Berlin .

Jungk composed orchestral works, a ballet and chamber music. In 1971 he published the book "Music in the Technical Age".
