Klaus Lausch

Klaus Lausch (born February 19, 1964 in Rott am Inn ) is a German motorcycle track racer who drove both speedway races and long-track races.

Career

He began his career in 1978 in the youth license class and in 1993, at only 29 years of age, he ended his active career and then devoted himself to engine tuning for racing machines. As early as 1982, at the age of 18, he made people sit up and take notice at the Speedway DM final in Bremen-Arsten with a 5th place and in 1984 he reached the U21 Speedway European Championship final in England. In the same year he was German runner-up behind Egon Müller in the Speedway, received a contract with the Oxford Cheetahs in the British professional league and was only 21 in 1985 in his first long-course World Championship final in Korskro / DK. He would have qualified for the Speedway World Cup final in Bradford / GB in 1985 if he had not been disqualified.

Career highlights for Lausch were the wins of the long track runner-up world championship in 1988, the speedway individual DM titles in 1988, 1989 and 1990, as well as the best pairs world championship finals in 1986, 1990 and 1991. From 1985 to 1992 Lausch was also part of the national speedway team.

Personal

After his active career, Klaus Lausch dedicated himself to tuning track racing engines and equipped several top drivers at the Speedway World Championship Grand Prix, the Long Track World Championship and also the Ice Speedway World Championship Grand Prix with machine material.
