Klaus Strehl

Klaus Strehl (* 27. July 1943 in Fulda ) is a German politician of the SPD .

education and profession

After attending elementary school and then completing secondary school in 1960, Klaus Strehl attended the commercial college for two years. In 1962 he obtained the technical college entrance qualification. From 1962 to 1965 he was a candidate for a city inspector; He graduated in administration in 1965. He graduated from the Administration and Business Academy with a degree in municipal civil servants in 1970.

From 1965 to 1985 he worked in the Oberhausen city administration; most recently as a municipal councilor. He resigned from this office in 1985 in accordance with the North Rhine-Westphalia Deputies Act (AbgG NW).

politics

Klaus Strehl has been a member of the SPD since 1966. Since 1969 he has been the deputy chairman of the Bottrop SPD local association. From 1983 to 1995 he was chairman of the SPD sub-district of Bottrop. Strehl has been a member of the Bottrop City Council since 1975 and has been chairman of the SPD parliamentary group there since 1995. Strehl has been mayor of Bottrop since 2004.

He is also a member of the administrative board of Stadtsparkasse Bottrop, the supervisory board of Emscher-Lippe-Energie GmbH and the advisory board for public customers at WestLB .

Klaus Strehl was a directly elected member of the 10th , 11th , 12th and 13th Landtag of North Rhine-Westphalia from 1985 to 2005 .
