Klaus Volk

Klaus Volk (born April 29, 1944 in Coburg ) is a German legal scholar , professor and criminal defense attorney .

Life

After studying at the LMU Munich from 1963 to 1968, Volk was the scientific assistant to his doctoral supervisor Paul Bockelmann . People in 1970 due to work on legal philosophy in the early 20th century doctorate . In 1972 he passed the assessor examination. In 1977 he completed his habilitation in the subjects of criminal law , criminal procedural law , criminology and legal theory .

After stations in Erlangen and Konstanz , he accepted the chair for criminal law, commercial criminal law and criminal procedure law at the LMU Munich in 1980 . There he was dean of the law faculty in 1989/90 . In 2003 the Italian University of Urbino awarded him an honorary doctorate.

activity

The main focus of popular academic work was on research into national and international white-collar crime law as well as criminal procedural law. His activities received public attention, among other things, as Josef Ackermann's defense lawyer in the Mannesmann trial (2004 to 2006), in the criminal tax proceedings against Boris Becker (2002/3) and in the trial against Joachim Zahn .
