Bonding practitioner

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Bonding practitioner or "European Adhesive Bonder (EAB)" is the name for qualified employees of adhesive users and manufacturers who have acquired basic knowledge in the field of bonding technology through a special training course .

The adhesive practitioner represents the lower level of the currently three-level advanced training system in adhesive technology (see also adhesive specialist , adhesive engineer ). Courses for qualification and testing for adhesive practitioners were offered and carried out for the first time in 1994.

Field of activity

The aim of the further training is to qualify the bonding practitioner for use in operational production in order to be able to carry out bonding professionally independently according to work instructions. With the DVS guideline DVS-3310, published in 2003 , which regulates the operational requirements for the implementation of adhesive processes, the adhesive practitioner can also be given the power of attorney to supervise other employees when carrying out adhesive processes. In these cases, it is also possible to transfer quality assurance tasks (e.g. creating work instructions) to the adhesive practitioner.

Further training to become a bonding practitioner

The harmonized guidelines DVS-EWF 3305 (for Germany) and EWF 515-01 (for Europe) define the framework for further training and examination to become an adhesive practitioner . Analogous to the advanced training in welding technology , the measure can only be offered and carried out by specially approved educational institutions.

The training duration is 40 teaching units of 50 minutes each (e.g. one-week full-time course).

The course is divided into theoretical training, practical training and examination, the latter consisting of a combination of a practical, written and oral individual examination. After successful completion, the graduate is awarded the DVS certificate “Adhesive Practitioner” and the EWF certificate “European Adhesive Bonder (EAB)”.
