The Klebstoffwerke Collodin GmbH , headquartered in Frankfurt am Main is one of the oldest adhesive manufacturer in Germany and was founded in the 1875th The company has been part of the Beardow Adams Group since 2014.

Company history

The Collodin adhesive works were founded in 1875 by Gustav Wolf. Mainly adhesives for the paper and shoe industry were produced. The company was founded in 1938 by the Dr. Schultz and Nauth, who also developed paper chemicals and bookbinding adhesives in the 1950s and 1960s. In 1975 Collodin entered the market for labeling adhesives, which are widely used under the “Signacoll” brand in the brewing, mineral water and soft drink industries. In the 1980s, Collodin developed solvent-free special adhesives for a wide variety of applications in the automotive industry , such as B. sound insulation , vehicle interiors and fabric bonding. In 2000, the development of solvent-free anti-drumming compounds for the automotive industry and solvent-free underbody protection coatings especially for the mobile home and caravan industry began. These were successfully launched on the market under the Collophon brand.

The partnership with Beardow Adams began in 1989 when Collodin became a distributor for Beardow Adams hot melt adhesives. In 2006, the Dr. Schultz took over their shares and the Nauth family became sole owners. In January 2014, Collodin was acquired by the Beardow Adams Group.

On November 1, 2017, the company changed its name from Klebstoffewerke Collodin GmbH to Beardow Adams GmbH.
