The Claas Garant is a trailed combine harvester from the Westphalian agricultural machinery manufacturer Claas . It is based on the self-propelled Claas Mercur and is therefore technically different from the much more frequently built Claas Super . The guarantor was unable to achieve any significance for the combine harvester market due to the pressure of competition from self-propelled combine harvesters. In the short production period between 1967 and 1970, just under 1000 machines were made.

technology

The guarantee is a pulled combine harvester that works according to the longitudinal flow threshing system with tangential threshing feed. The residual grain separation takes place with a conventional shaker system. A power take-off tractor with an engine output of at least 45 DIN HP (33 kW) is required for the drive . The Garant is operated with a remote control from the driver's seat of the towing tractor. The Garant is brought into transport position by raising the cutting unit and swiveling it.

The Garant's cutting unit has a cutting width of 2400 mm and is hydraulically height-adjustable between −80 mm and 1200 mm. It is passively adapted to uneven ground by means of coil springs, and the three-part stalk dividers are movably suspended and adapt to the ground. 16 crop lifters are fitted as standard. The spring-tine pick-up reel can be hydraulically adjusted in height and infinitely variable in speed. A spring-loaded two-disc friction clutch is installed as a protective mechanism against overloading the feed roller and reel.

The threshing drum with a width of 1060 mm has a diameter of 450 mm and six beater bars. Their speed can be set mechanically steplessly between 650 min −1 and 1500 min −1 . The drum is surrounded by a concave with ten beater bars, the distance can be adjusted by means of a torque adjustment. A stone trap is installed in front of the concave. The awning device is two-stage, in the first stage the concave is lengthened by three blow bars that are swiveled in front of it. The second stage consists of de-awning sheets that are folded under the basket. Both the awning steps and the torque adjustment can be operated with one lever each.

The long straw comes from the threshing drum onto four rack shakers with an area of 3.15 m 2 , the total separation area is 3.7 m 2 . The upper sieve is a lamellar sieve, the lower sieves can be exchanged for different types of fruit, four lower sieves were supplied as standard. The wind comes from a pressure wind blower. The total screen area is 2.05 m 2 . The cleaned grain ends up in the 1.8 m 3 grain tank on the roof of the machine, a bagging device was not offered. Refueling is done with a discharge pipe.
