Claas Lexion is a combine harvester series from the agricultural machinery manufacturer Claas in Harsewinkel . The high-performance harvester is available in 14 performance levels from 313 HP to 790 HP maximum output and a grain tank volume of 9,000 to 18,000 liters.

The LEXION 5000/6000 series works with the APS SYNFLOW WALKER threshing system.

The LEXION 7000/8000 series includes the more powerful APS SYNFLOW HYBRID threshing system.

history

In 1995 Claas presented the Lexion 480 large combine harvester for the first time. With a harvesting capacity of 40 t of grain per hour, this top model of the later Lexion series was the most powerful combine harvester in the world at the time. The Lexion 480 had the same APS system, in which the accelerator drum is in front of the threshing drum, as the Claas Mega , but with an enlarged threshing drum diameter of 0.60 m (compared to 0.45 m for the Mega) and one on 1 , 70 m wide threshing channel (compared to 1.58 m for the Mega). Instead of the shaker, however, two rotors were used. As a result, the device ran smoothly and the throughput was much higher than that of a conventional straw walker.

From 1999 Claas worked with the US construction and agricultural machinery manufacturer Caterpillar and sold the Lexion in North America under the CAT brand. In 2002 Claas took over 50% of the joint venture with Caterpillar and the combine harvester plant in the USA. The combine harvesters produced there continued to be sold in North America as CAT Lexion through the Caterpillar dealer network.

In 2002 a Lexion 480 with caterpillar drive was already the 10,000. Lexion produces.

The Lexion 500 series followed in 2003. On February 11, 2003, the 40,000 left. Combine the plant in Harsewinkel . The Lexion was painted in silver based on the first combine harvesters built by Claas. After the Lexion 580 as the top model, the Lexion 600 was presented at the Agritechnica trade fair in 2005 , with a header width of up to 12 m, a grain tank volume of 12,000 liters and a harvesting capacity of 60 tons per hour. This made it again the most powerful combine harvester in the world. In 2010 Claas finally presented the Lexion 600 and 700 series. They are all equipped with an overhauled cabin. Furthermore, new caterpillar drives are available, with which the Lexion 750 can reach a top speed of up to 40 km / h. The Lexion 770 can be equipped with a 12 meter wide Vario header. The Lexion 780 has been available with a header width of up to 13.80 m since 2012.

In 2013, Claas presented the new Lexion 600 and 700 Tier 4 series in the face of new emissions standards.

On June 29, 2016, the 50,000. Lexion from the tape.

In July 2019, the new, revised Lexions were presented, now with four-digit type designations. These are divided into the four series 5000, 6000, 7000 and 8000.
