Small train Winsen – Evendorf – Hützel

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Kleinbahn Winsen – Evendorf – Hützel GmbH operated the Winsen – Hützel railway and operated from July 20, 1906, first to Egestorf, then from July 8, 1910 to Hützel. It was not until 1913 that it was possible to continue to Soltau via the Lüneburg – Soltau railway. The line, also known as the "Luhebahn", represented a connection across the Lüneburg Heath from the main line Hamburg – Lüneburg to the Lüneburg – Soltau line ( Kleinbahn Lüneburg – Soltau ) .

The Kleinbahn also managed the railway line Winsen – Niedermarschacht ( Kleinbahn Winsen – Niedermarschacht ) and provided its vehicles and staff.

From 1933, the Lower Saxony State Small Railway Authority was in charge of operations. On January 1st, the two Winsener Kleinbahnen were merged to form Winsener Eisenbahngesellschaft GmbH .

With the establishment of Osthannoversche Eisenbahnen AG , the small railway lost its independence on July 10, 1944.
