Kleinsteinbach is a village in the Bad Blumau municipality in Styria .

The village is located northeast of Bad Blumau and also consists of the Rotten Obergfangen and Untergfangen, which are north and southeast of Kleinsteinbach.

First mentioned in a document in 1170, but Roman grave mounds north of Kleinsteinbach indicate a much earlier settlement of the area. The ministries Hartfreid and Baldwin received Kleinsteinbach as a gift and could later expand their property to Lindegg , Loimeth , Jobst and Hohenbrugg . Its seat was Steinbach Castle in the Burgstall on Steinbachgraben west of Schwarzmannshofen .

Already in the interwar period and increasingly after the Second World War, strangers, mainly from Vienna, sought relaxation in the quiet and sunny locations around Kleinsteinbach. The proximity to the Bad Blumau thermal baths was also an advantage . In 1968 the community of Kleinsteinbach was incorporated into the large community of Blumau.
