Klemens Kindermann

Klemens Kindermann (born June 5, 1963 in Berlin ) is the head of the department and eponymous program Economy and Society at Deutschlandfunk and a former manager at Handelsblatt .

Life

Kindermann studied as a scholarship holder of the Catholic Episcopal Journalism Training (ifp) Catholic theology at the Jesuit University in Rome as well as in Münster and Oxford and was a scholarship holder of the German National Academic Foundation for the promotion of gifted students . During his studies he made a stop at WAZ , Westfälische Nachrichten , dpa , NDR and ARD-aktuell . After completing a traineeship at the German Press Agency (dpa), from 1991 onwards he worked at the company's editorial team in Essen in the corporate reporting department. From 1994 he was a political correspondent in Berlin. In 1997 he wrote about energy and environmental policy for the Handelsblatt, coordinated the country reporting and developed the Handelsblatt Business Monitor, which surveys the representative of the German top managers. In 2002 he became head of the Political Desk and in 2004 he became the second head of the Economics & Politics department and was heavily involved in content and editorial developments.

In July 2009 Kindermann became head of the department and the eponymous program Economy and Society at Deutschlandfunk , succeeding Rainer Bittermann, who had previously retired . He has editorial responsibility for economic and stock market reporting for current information programs as well as for programs such as Environment and Consumers and Economy am Mittag and has been deputy editor-in-chief there since 2012.
