Life
After Cleopatra had entered into her first marriage with the Macedonian king Perdiccas II, she gave birth to a son who was still a child at Perdiccas' death (413 BC). Now she extended her hand to Archelaus I, an illegitimate son of her deceased husband. Archelaus succeeded his father on the Macedonian throne and was supposed to rule the young son of Cleopatra from Perdiccas, but he soon had him murdered.

Cleopatra also bore Archelaus a son named Orestes , who after the death of his father in 399 BC. Came to the government under age.
