The Merzig Clinic is a clinic in Merzig , Saarland . It is sponsored by the Saarland-Heilstätten Group (SHG).

history

During the cholera epidemic in 1854, three sisters of St. Karl Borromeo came from Trier to Merzig. A hospital and orphanage was inaugurated on August 5, 1880 by Pastor Dechant Reiss. The keys were given to the sisters on August 24, 1880.

In 1959 a new building took place. In 1993, the sponsorship changed from the Merzig-Wadern district to Saarland Heilstätten GmbH (SHG). In 1998 a new building was inaugurated. To the north of the clinic is the Park of Dissenters .

Facility

The Saarland Psychiatry Museum is also located in the building .
