The Drjanowo Monastery ( Bulgarian Дряновски манастир "Свети Архангел Михаил" / Drjanoski manastir "Sweti Archangel Michail") is dedicated to the Archangel Michael and is still used by monks today. The Bulgarian Orthodox Monastery is listed among the 100 national tourist objects of Bulgaria created by the Bulgarian Tourism Association .

The Drjanowo Monastery is located around 5 km from the Bulgarian city ​​of Drjanowo around 15 km from Gabrovo in the Gabrovo Oblast . The monastery is located in the middle of the central Balkan Mountains , in the gorge of the Drjanowo River, a tributary of the Jantra . Nearby is one of the largest caves in Bulgaria, the Batscho Kiro cave .

The monastery was founded in the 12th century, but destroyed several times during the period of Ottoman-Turkish rule (1393–1878) and the monks living there were killed, most recently during the Bulgarian April Uprising in 1876.
