The monastery Hamicolt was a Benedictine monastery in Dülmen .

history

It all started with a farm near Rorup that had been bequeathed to the Münster diocese . 1856 settled in this Redemptorist . This first monastery had to close in 1873 as a result of the Kulturkampf . After its end, German Benedictine nuns of the Holy Sacrament moved from the Dutch Oldenzaal to the monastery in 1891 . From Hamicolt, the Vinnenberg Monastery was revived in 1898 and the Varensell Abbey was founded in 1902 . In Hamicolt the sisters ran a wafer bakery and a parament embroidery. The last eight sisters moved to the Catholic retirement home in Rosendahl-Osterwick on March 1, 2008. In Maria Hamicolt now lives the community of the new path of St. Francis , who continues the guest house and the wafer bakery.
