The Hochstraß Monastery (also: Monastery of the Order of the Daughters of Divine Love ) was a monastery in Hochstraß in the municipality of Stössing , Lower Austria .

history

Established by the Congregation of the Daughters of Divine Love , the monastery was established in 1896. The agricultural housekeeping school began operations in 1897. The monastery has been expanded and expanded several times. During the Second World War the school was closed and refugees were quartered.

The nuns then resumed their work and reopened the housekeeping school, but in 2009 they had to give up the school.

The property is under monument protection ( list entry ). About 100 m to the west there is a small cemetery with about a dozen burial places and wayside shrines ( list entry ).

Refugium Hochstrass

The entire area was sold in 2012 and converted into a seminar hotel, the Refugium Hochstrass , which opened in 2015.
