Maria Himmelfahrt Monastery (Bamberg)
The Maria Himmelfahrt Monastery is a monastery of the English Misses in Bamberg in Bavaria in the Archdiocese of Bamberg . It was founded in 1716 by Baroness Amalie von Rotenhan with the consent of the Prince-Bishop of Bamberg. The monastery was not closed in 1803 in the course of secularization , but the admission of novices was prohibited. The church was temporarily used as a depot. The restitution took place in 1827.
